Sara L. Stromeyer, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in treatment of children and adolescents. She received a doctoral degree from the University of Alabama, with a focus on emotional, behavioral, and attentional/learning disorders. Dr. Stromeyer participated in further extensive training at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC and La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago, with additional concentrations in pediatric medical/health psychology.
Dr. Stromeyer works with variety of issues including behavioral problems, developmental concerns, social and emotional issues, and coping with acute and chronic medical conditions. While she primarily adopts a cognitive-behavioral approach, she tailors treatment to the individual and family, focusing on building good relationships.
Dr. Stromeyer participates in child and adolescent-focused Divisions of the American Psychological Association (53, 54, and 37) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. She served as a past representative of Division 37 (Child and Family Policy and Practice) and is currently certified by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Additionally, she maintains a commitment to teaching and training psychology students.
